If you want to go back in time, then you need to go to Vulci
You are in one of the main Etruscan cities, situated on the River Fiora, now a beautiful historical park just a few kilometres from the Stella del Mare Family Camping Village. The Cryptoporticus welcomes you with its underground passages where water still gushes out of ancient springs while mosaics, thermal baths and other interesting finds will help you relive the period of the Roman Empire.

If you love excursions in the open air, there’s nothing better than horse riding. Try this unique experience and discover all the beauty of the Tuscan Maremma scenery. Around the Stella del Mare Family Camping Village there are riding centres that offer courses and activities to suit all levels, for both adults and children.
You will never forget these sunsets over the sea
If a sunset gets you feeling emotional, you need to know that there is something unique about the ones you see from the Rocchette or Cala Violina beaches. You don’t need to travel far, not at all: just a few steps from your accommodation, follow the sun as it sinks into the sea and enjoy an aperitif with spectacular views. Simply fantastic.
Pisa and its leaning tower
Just a two-hour drive from the Stella del Mare Family Camping Village the famous city of Pisa awaits you. You may not know that its leaning tower is in fact a bell tower: have you ever tried the strange sensation of climbing the sloping stairs to the top? This “fault” has made it one of the most visited and famous monuments in the world. Remember to book in advance if you want to visit the tower.
Siena and Piazza del Campo
Siena is the city that stages the famous “Palio”, held twice a year, in July and August, in the beautiful square called Piazza del Campo (or simply “il Campo”), which is in fact the city’s main square. Unique due to its particular and highly unusual shell shape, its beauty and architectural harmony make it a truly special space.
Wine, food and nature in Chianti
Chianti is also the name of a geographical area in the centre of Tuscany, which is one of a kind. A good glass of Chianti Classico with a slice of Pecorino di Pienza sheep cheese or, why not, a fantastic dish of Pici Cacio and Pepe (cheese and pepper), are culinary delights you cannot afford to miss!
Butteri, the Maremma cowboys
Tuscany is a region with a thousand different faces and one of its most characteristic is the Butteri. You definitely have to learn about the traditions associated with the Maremma horses. Don’t miss the spectacle of the Butteri riding their horses during the summer season at the “La Bandita” riding centre in Castiglione della Pescaia, just a few kilometres from the Stella del Mare Village.
