This extremely valuable heritage has been passed down through hundreds of years by the Cistercian monks: their fundamental rules “Ora et Labora” (pray and work) and “Cruce et aratro” (cross and plough) inspired their incredible, admirable work, which now adds value to the territory. The abbey of Chiaravalle di Fiastra (a parish of the Diocese of Macerata) is open every day, from 7.15 am to 6.00 pm.
Fermo By Bike - Among the castles of the Fermo territory
From Fermo proceed to Monsampietro Morico and then to Sant’Elpidio Morico, towns named after Morica, Malugero Melo's wife, son of the Norman Dragone of Altavilla. Continue along steep climbs to Montottone, an evocative hilltop village with views over the surrounding countryside. After a break in this fascinating location, where time seems to stand still, you are ready to return to Fermo.

Loreto - Pontifical Museum of the Holy House of Loreto
The Museum of the Ancient Treasure of the Holy House is located in the western arm of the Apostolic Palace in Loreto. The Museum houses a rich and varied heritage of art and faith, which testifies to the fame and prestige it enjoys throughout the world. The ten Flemish tapestries woven in 1620-1624 based on cartoons by Raphael (17th century) stand out: a must-see during your holidays in the Marche.
